There’s No Bias Like Shown Bias

Now that President Trump is on the pinnacle of announcing his second Supreme Court justice in 18 months, all his nominees owe a big thank you to a “couple” dinged in Office of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s 500-plus page report.

Why? Thanks to dozens of incriminating text messages between Peter Strozk and Lisa Page demonstrating copious amounts of bias against both candidate Trump and later President Trump, we are expected to believe that the subjectivity of the “twin texting terribles” played no role in their investigation.

So what do texts from the FBI’s former paramours have to do with Trump’s Supreme Court nominees?

If law and order “professionals” like Strozk and Page can exhibit such blatant bias without it presumably affecting their work, why can’t Supreme Court nominees be held to a similar standard?

Consider: Whoever President Trump’s selection is to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, that candidate is sure to be the target of intense interrogations and slanderous scrutiny about their views of Roe vs Wade, the Second Amendment, and the Trump administrations’s zero-tolerance border policy, just to name a few predictable litmus test issues.

But wait! Based on the new liberal standard that law and justice professionals can hold any subjective opinion regarding the target of an investigation, then let the justice confirmation hearings begin.

Think Trump’s justice nominee has a bias against Roe vs Wade? Doesn’t matter because whatever their typed or unspoken opinion, obviously it won’t affect their duties as a legal professional based on the Strozk-Page legal precedent.

What if the nominee has expressed a private opinion on favoring gun rights or the rights of Christian businesses not to participate in gay nuptials based on religious reasons?

That argument is now moot since, under the Strozk-Page standard, such “free speech” musings by a Supreme Court justice certainly wouldn’t affect how they interpret the Constitution and their subsequent rulings on the high court.

To believe that any individual could be so blatantly biased as Strozk, Page and many others in the DOJ and FBI, and that their bias wouldn’t affect their investigation, strains credulity.

Not to mention that that same blistering bias didn’t affect their judgment on Hillary’s illicit use of an private email server, her exposure of national security secrets and destruction of subpoenaed devices – none of that mattered because [“Trump’s] not ever going to be president, right? Right?!”

“No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.”

Apparently bias, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder – and all those that wallow in the Deep State swamp.

Fresno State Condones Hate Speech

Memo to Fresno State President Joseph Castro and his university:

Your cowardly inaction regarding Professor Randa Jarrar’s spiteful tweets say more about you and your values than it does about free speech.

As we mentioned in last week’s post about the “tolerant” Ms. Jarrar, the creative writing professor tweeted despicable comments within an hour of former First Lady Barbara Bush’s passing – then doubled down on her hate-filled vile and vitriol.

Castro admitted publicly that while Jarrar’s comments were “insensitive, inappropriate and an embarrassment to the university,” apparently they weren’t insensitive, inappropriate and embarrassing enough to do anything about them.

According to the Washington Post, the university concluded that her cruel comments did not violate any university policies and her disgraceful language was constitutionally protected speech under the First Amendment.

Okay. So what if a conservative professor at Fresno State (or any publicly-funded college campus or university) posted a similar tweet upon the death of Hillary Clinton, or the passing of former First Lady Michelle Obama?

Can you imagine how Castro and the university board would interpret “free speech” under those circumstances?

Reportedly the university’s decision was based in part on the fact that Jarrar was speaking about a public matter as an individual on her personal Twitter account. In other words, her actions weren’t representing the university and therefore, any action taken by the university would have violated her rights of free speech.

We should expect better than weasel logic from a university president.

Thousands of private companies prohibit tasteless free speech from their employees because they won’t tolerate such deplorable behavior – publicly or privately, for two reasons:

First, tasteless comments on social media by employees reflect bad on their employer. That’s bad for business. Secondly, it makes the employee look hateful and deranged – which in turn makes their employer look stupid for hiring them – which is also bad for business.

Actions and language have consequences in the real world. Safe spaces and microaggressions may be popular in the land of ivory towers, but they’re just a fairy tale in the business world.

Martin Luther King, Jr. had a famous dream where Americans of all colors would be judged by the content of their character.

In the case of Fresno State and all those supporting Randa Jarrar’s contemptible rhetoric, that would be hard to do because they have no character.

If Mitch McConnell or Paul Ryan were advising Judas about betrayal, the disciple that sold Jesus out for a mere 30 pieces of silver would have commanded a much higher price for his treachery.

Conservatives, mark down in your history books – 2018 was the year that Good Friday was preceded one week by Black Friday – or maybe it should be called “Red Friday” since it committed taxpayers to billions of dollars in reckless social services spending with a budget that would make the Kremlin proud.

If Chuck and Nancy do a tell-all book on this disastrous bill, they might well call it “Trumping the Art of the Deal.”

Many Trump supporters experienced disbelief, anger and depression faster than a Lamborghini going from 0-60 mph when shortly after midnight March 23, Senate Republicans joined hands with Democrats to pass the second highest budget in U.S. history.

If the president had followed through on his threat hours after the vote to veto Chuck and Nancy’s pirated pork pie, it is unlikely it would have cost him a single loyal supporter.

A veto would have shut down the government and forced Congress to come back from a two-week Easter recess and renegotiate. If Congress chose not to negotiate and managed to override Trump’s veto, congressional Republicans would have owned this disaster themselves.

Not now – Trump’s signature makes him just as culpable as the Republicans who stabbed their constituents in the back – his good intentions regarding the military notwithstanding.

Bottom line: after the president signed what he himself called a “ridiculous” bill numbering 2,232 pages, it may conceivably cost him millions of supporters and done irreparable damage to his brand as a political outsider and consummate negotiator.

No wonder Democrats were smiling so broadly – they got almost everything they wanted (Planned Parenthood funding, sanctuary city funding, firearms restrictions, funding for the New York-New Jersey underground tunnel), plus they got their Republican counterparts to put a 727-sized hole in Trump’s plans for a beautiful border wall.

That’s two walls the Democrats managed to bring down in time for this fall’s 2018 election – the much promised border wall and Trump’s former wall of invincibility.

Hillary Clinton: The Dame of Blame

The 2016 presidential election is blessed history and thankfully we’ve turned the page on her book tour, but Hillary Clinton persists on “womansplaining” why she lost.

Clinton’s unwillingness to take responsibility for snatching unlikely defeat from the jaws of probable victory is causing lots of angst in the party of angst.

If the “deplorables” comment she made in 2016 wasn’t bad enough, recently in India she started her visit off on the wrong foot when she doubled down on her blame game with this gem:

“I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, Make America Great Again, was looking backwards,” she said about her opponent, Donald Trump.

Wait – it gets better! Two days after International Women’s Day she threw half of American women under the bus and back in the kitchen baking cookies when she said this:

“We do not do well with white men and we don’t do well with married, white women. And part of that is identification with the Republican Party, and a sort of ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.”

Clinton may believe that Democrats don’t do well with white men, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want their “support” – especially when stair steps are involved.

Between her senseless comments and her pedestrian skills, it’s easy to see just how “out of step” Hillary is with most Americans.

Since her earlier physical and diplomatic missteps in India, it’s been reported that Clinton also fractured her wrist after slipping in the bathtub at a five-star resort in India.

Time will tell if #LockHerUp will ever happen, but it seems bad karma is Clinton’s destiny.

A Doozy of a DACA Idea

The latest Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) deadline of March 5 has come and gone, and both Republicans and Democrats have hit the wall on the problem of illegal immigration – so to speak.

President Obama created the controversial DACA program in June 2012 as he idly fished for votes with his phone and pen during his re-election campaign.

Since then we’ve all had to deal with a questionable program that is constitutionally fishy, and the can of worms it opened for everyone.

An estimated 683,000 DACA recipients are currently protected under the program. Recipients have renewable two-year stays from deportation and enjoy work permits, driver’s licenses, Social Security registration and, rumor has it, all-you-can-eat privileges on Taco Tuesdays and Fajita Fridays.

President Trump discontinued the illegal program last fall and gave Congress six months to come up with a fix so they did what they do so well – kicked the immigration can down the no responsibility road.

Now they’ve stubbed their toes and stirred the anger of DACA recipients who are not melding well in America’s melting pot.

Fortunately there is a solution, and it’s a Dean Riffs exclusive. I propose the following:

We deport every member of Congress who supports illegal immigration
We deport all the groups left and right lobbying for illegal immigration
We deport California’s Gov Jerry Brown, a supporter of sanctuary states, and every mayor who supports sanctuary cities
We deport every journalist that uses words like “undocumented immigrant” and “dreamers” when referring to illegals
We #BuildTheWall and enforce current immigration law until a permanent solution is passed

Phase 2: We require every member of Congress to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for every day a DACA fix was not enacted since Trump abolished the illegal program; we give DACA recipients permanent membership status after the wall is built; we make every illegal wanting to immigrate here enter legally, and all others listed above are subject to passing a class on the U.S. Constitution and a remedial history class.

There – fixed it.

America’s Schizophrenic Holiday!

Presidents’ Day is like a holiday Rorschach test.

Ask a dozen people who the day is meant to honor and many will say George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, whose birthdays were both in February.

Some say President’s Day celebrates all presidents while others believe it commemorates the Mount Rushmore four.

Four years ago Chicago’s e-coupon marketer Groupon did a marketing gag on Presidents Day where they offered $10 off any $40 purchase from participating local businesses.

The statement on their website promoting the special read like this:

“The $10 bill, as everyone knows, features President Alexander Hamilton — undeniably one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the country’s financial system.”

For history-challenged readers, aka, high school students or Ivy League college underclassmen, the gag was Alexander Hamilton was never President of the United States, but served in President George Washington’s cabinet as the nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury.

For readers who may be college juniors and seniors, nor did Hamilton invent the $10 bill.

He is however, the celebrated star of a popular musical where theater goers may pick up a historical fact or two between choruses.

Groupon reportedly claimed the spoof was a huge success, although a small group of litigious-minded Americans tried unsuccessfully to sue on the grounds they claimed the company had plagiarized April Fool’s Day.

They pressed for damages, claiming that the February stunt created a panic when thousands of Americans feared it was April 1 and they were late filing their taxes, causing them to get hooked on opioids and injure themselves while doing their returns on Turbo Tacks.

Alright, alright – I made that part up about the bogus lawsuit, but hey – we all celebrate Presidents Day in our own way!

Another sign of this dysfunctional holiday is the wandering apostrophe. Is it Presidents’ Day, President’s Day or Presidents Day?

However you write it, the apostrophe in Presidents Day has serious displacement issues.

The final reason why Presidents Day is schizo because unlike the Fourth of July, Veteran’s Day or even Valentine’s Day, it isn’t observed on a specific date but rather on the third Monday of February.

This makes it more like Thanksgiving, which is held on the fourth Thursday of November, except Thanksgiving has better food than Presidents’ Day, and Black Friday shopping rather than white sales, but at least they have the non-specific date thing in common.

This much I know for sure. Our Declaration of Independence says we have the right to life, liberty and three-day holiday weekends, and wherever you put the ‘Pres’idents Da’y apostrophe, this is an inalienable right – as long as you are a state or federal government employee or work for a bank.

Getting the Picture of Obama’s Presidency

They say every picture tells a story. If that’s true, the official presidential portrait of former president Barack Obama released Monday at the National Portrait Gallery is reminiscent of one of those Choose Your Own Adventure books.

Why is Potus #44 immersed in green foliage and flowers with a resolute look on his face? Shouldn’t he be seated behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office with a majestic look befitting the god-man who pledged to stem the rise of the oceans and heal the planet?

The portrait artist was personally selected by Obama, so it seems unlikely that the green foliage is meant to symbolize all the marijuana that young Barry Soetoro smoked as a member of his Choom Gang in high school.

Maybe the green background is meant to epitomize the Green Movement that grew like a weed under the stewardship of Obama’s rogue EPA?

Could it represent the Green Revolution that Obama snuffed out when he ignored the Iranian students protesting for freedoms early in his first term when he sided with the mullah hardliners instead?

And what’s with the flowers? If they were pansies and lilies the portrait might make more sense as representative of Obama’s leading from behind foreign policy.

To be honest visitors viewing the portrait in the gallery may see it as a giant Rorschach test made by Walt Disney.

Of course, if the artist wanted to really portray Obama’s fraudulent, clandestine behavior during his two terms, they may have wanted to do something like this:

Whatever the artist’s intent, the animated caricature looking down on Smithsonian visitors will be a symbolic portrayal of what current and future conservatives will always view as a cartoon presidency.

Imam Shortage Blamed on Trump

In case you missed it, America has an imam shortage.

An imam is an Islamic leader of worship services at mosques. Not surprisingly, according to Politico Magazine, the imam shortage is President Donald Trump’s fault.

Why are America’s mosques running short on imams? Take your pick:

1) Foreign imams are having trouble getting visas – Trump’s fault;

2) Imams fear a backlash from American Islamophobia – Trump’s fault;

3) There aren’t enough imams to go around – which will undoubtedly be blamed on Trump once his critics figure a way to square that circle (crescent)?

Blaming the imam shortage on the fact there aren’t enough imams for Friday services reminds me of the question our sophomore high school health class was asked about what causes baldness. “Lack of hair!” classmate Ricky Hicks blurted out in Mr. Obvious fashion.

And how ironic is it that a visiting Middle Eastern imam would worry about violence in Idaho or South Carolina after living in primitive villages where 7-year-old boys carry Kalashnikov rifles and honor killings are an approved religious activity.

Politico says the concern of many in America’s Islamic community is that imam-less mosque members could turn radical without an imam to lead them.

“They go to the internet or Google and then can end up somewhere very bad,” said Abu Marwan, the president of the Masjid Al-Rahma outside San Diego.

That’s interesting, considering the Catholic Church has experienced a shortage of priests for years, yet I haven’t heard of Catholics going violent, brandishing communion wafers and blowing up raffle tickets or bingo boards.

And liberal fantasies aside, Protestant churches without ministers don’t go ballistic like the repulsive church scene in The Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Regardless, Marwan frets that a lack of stable leadership will push young Muslim Americans towards radicalization because they may roam the Internet like ISIS converts do. In other words, they may go jihadi rogue.

Last I checked, that’s the same reason why President Trump wants to limit visas from predominantly Muslim nations.

Hillary Decries “Threat” to Justice System

Can’t stand the heat? Then Hillary should stay out of the corruption kitchen.

On Nov 15th Fox News reported that Hillary Clinton said calls for a special prosecutor regarding the Uranium One sale was a “politicization of the Justice Department.”

The hypocrisy of her claim is worthy of an Oscar for Best Prevaricating Actress. Quote of the day from the Queen of Russian resets is that calls for an independent prosecutor in the Uranium One deal and subsequent contributions to the Clinton Foundation are just meant to distract from the Trump/Russian collusion investigations.

“And if they send a signal that we’re going to be like some dictatorship, some authoritarian regimen where political opponents are going to be unfairly, fraudulently investigated — that rips at the fabric of the contract we have that we can trust our justice system,” she said.

Wow. Hearing words like “dictatorship,” “authoritarian,” “fraud” and “trust” coming from a political animal like Hillary Clinton will cause the head of any conservative with a halfway decent memory to spin out of control.

Hillary may want to start shopping for fire retardant pants suits because if recent news accounts are accurate, the kitchen is going to get even hotter in the not too distant future.

Obama Should Pay for Bergdahl’s Benefits

From the moment Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban, he became eligible for benefits available to troops held in captivity. Combined with his basic and deployment pay, the Army Times says the dishonorably discharged former sergeant who plead guilty to “desertion and misbehavior before the enemy” may be entitled to more than $300,000.

The final decision on what Bergdahl is owed rests with General Robert Abrams, the convening authority in the case. If Bergdahl is paid anything, here’s a suggestion: deduct his monetary award from Obama’s presidential pension.

Obama is the genius that brokered the deal to exchange Bergdahl for five Taliban prisoners and some reports say an undisclosed amount of cash.

Not only did Obama overpay and illegally go around Congress, but taxpayers could be saddled with paying Bergdahl’s back wages – despite the fact he plead guilty to the two charges mentioned above.

Apparently treachery paid better in Obama’s administration than it did during the time of Judas Iscariot and Benedict Arnold.
