Red Lines and Empty Threats

Crossing a red line is as easy as crossing a “T” when there are no consequences.

If you are a Deep State member and never Trumper, crossing Republican mandated red lines without repercussions appears to be standard operating Deep Swamp procedure.

There have been two red lines crossed in congressional investigations the past five days. The first was when acting DOJ head Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray blew off the latest Devin Nunes’ request for materials (again) July 6.

The latest was last night (July 10) when former DOJ lawyer and text titan Lisa Page’s lawyer announced his client would defy a congressional subpoena to testify before two committees today, July 11.

Freedom Caucus members and other Republicans expressed their usual outrage, but their playbook is getting old: Congress requests, demands and threatens, and those under suspicion respond with their usual chorus of crickets, smirks and snark.

Smirking Rod Rosenstein

The House Intelligence committee under the leadership of California Rep Devin Nunes has done a tremendous job the past 18 months investigating Hillary Clinton’s illicit email server, the Trump-Russia collusion hoax and other Obama administration scandals intended to disrupt the 2016 presidential election and the early days of the Trump administration.

But…

The committee’s fumble of the latest “red line” diss by Rod Rosenstein, Christopher Wray and the DOJ should have been the straw that broke the jackass party’s back.

Congress has specific oversight responsibilities over executive agencies and the power of the purse to back up those responsibilities.

Specifically, it has the power to hold those disregarding oversight efforts responsible by charging them with contempt and/or impeachment.

So why are there never any tangible consequences for professional procrastinators like Rosenstein, Wray and Peter Strozk when they disregard subpoenas, lie under oath and refuse to answer questions while hiding behind the camouflage of national security concerns?

Yes, the president has the power to declassify the documents Congress subpoenaed a year ago, but shouldn’t Nunes and other Republican committee chairmen stand up for themselves and the country by exercising all of their powers enumerated in the Constitution before involving the president?

Such inaction makes the committees look feckless, impotent and unwilling to do the job they swore to do when joining Congress.

Failure to do so reflects badly on them as elected officials, Congress as an institution, and it does irreparable damage to America’s critical rule of law.

For Congressman Nunes and other Freedom Caucus members like Trey Gowdy, Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan and Ron DeSantis, this summer is crunch time in the Deep Swamp trenches.

Threats of contempt and impeachment are only good options if you are willing to use them. Progressives and never-Trumpers are playing hardball, and for the good of the country we’re encouraging all of you to do the same.

For God’s sake and America’s sanity, do something – anything – to hold those involved in attempting to discredit our duly elected President accountable for their illicit actions.

McCabes’ Launching ‘Go Fund Us’ 2

Fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and wife Jill were overwhelmed by the generosity of Americans recently contributing to his legal defense through the popular Go Fund Me program.

“The support we received in such a short period was simply overwhelming,” McCabe told a recent throng of reporters.  “Jill and I were stunned and extraordinarily grateful for the outpouring of support.”

McCabe’s believed net worth: $4 million

McCabe was terminated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions on March 16th based on recommendations from the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and current FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The decision to dismiss McCabe was based on investigators’ belief that he lied on at least four separate occasions to investigators and former FBI Director James Comey.

McCabe’s Barnum & Bailey promotional team launched a Go Fund Me page March 29 with the goal of raising $150,000 for his upcoming legal defense needs.  To the astonishment of many, McCabe’s group raised $551,186 in just four days from 13,169 different people.

“I never imagined that I would need to rely on this type of assistance,” he said, wiping a tear from his eye.

The grateful McCabe’s were so pleased at the charity and goodwill of the American people they have announced another opportunity to contribute to their family’s coffers, but this fundraiser comes with a playful twist.

“We thought it would be fun to allow contributors a choice as to where their donations go,” said Dr. Jill McCabe, a pediatrician, hospital administrator and medical director for three departments at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia.

Choices include: college tuition and housing for the McCabes’ kids, remodeling the kitchen in their $715,000 home and adding new appliances, or a one-way ticket to a tropical country with no extradition treaty with the U.S.

“Hopefully our efforts, fueled by this incredible support, will encourage others to stand up for themselves, and the truth, as well,” McCabe said.

One Swamp Reptile Gone, More to Come

Introducing 3D News – Dean’s Daily Digest: A daily distillation of fake news, conservative shaming and liberal illogic reported by the mainstream media.

MONDAY, JANUARY 29

A giant sucking sound was audible emanating from the nation’s capitol Monday and no, it wasn’t a Democrat tax bill or the usual strange noises coming from Al Franken’s former Senate office.

Instead it was the sound of the swamp being drained, and it’s a sound Americans are going to hear often the next few weeks.

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, better known as “Andy” to secret society types, was escorted out of FBI headquarters Monday a day after FBI director Christopher Wray reviewed an inspector general report on how the bureau handled internal investigations of the 2016 presidential election.

McCabe played a key role in the FBI investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server – despite the clear conflict posed when it became known that his wife accepted over half a million dollars in campaign contributions from a close Clinton ally.

Being the boy scout he is, McCabe later recused himself – a week before the election.

McCabe also played a pivotal role in the investigation into alleged contact between members of the Trump campaign and the Russian government. How big a role? Presumably that’s what in the four-page report Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee voted to release Monday.

The classified memo outlines alleged abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by senior DOJ and FBI officials while investigating suspected Russian collusion by Trump campaign officials.

As we mentioned in the post The Russian Collusion Boomerang, those swamp creatures laying traps and snares for the President they call a disgrace are now finding themselves hopelessly entangled in their own deceit and duplicity.

Also on Monday a group of Hollyweird political activists gathered for the aptly named “People’s State of the Union” in NYC’s Town Hall. You know, like the “People’s Republic of Korea” and the “People’s Park” at UC-Berkeley.

Emceed by anti-Trump critic Mark Ruffalo, aka the mild-mannered Bruce Banner in comic book movies like Iron Man and Thor, many of the perpetual gloom and doomers in attendance were secretly hoping all the vitriolic Never Trump banter would prompt the mild mannered Banner to morph into The Incredible Hulk – presumably so he could chase down the president and smash him with an over-sized people’s fist.

Unfortunately for them Hulk didn’t materialize and they had to settle for Michael Moore instead.

Mark Ruffalo – Dreamer Wannabe

“We must remove and replace the system and the culture that gave us Trump in the first place,” Moore told the Hollywood full-of-it faithful hoping for the second coming of Saul Alinsky.

By “the system” Moore undoubtedly meant the Constitution and Electoral College, and by the culture he meant things like illusory white male privilege, voter ID laws and enforceable borders – like the walls many Hollywookie types live behind in the People’s Republic of California.

There were also repeated references to Trump supporters being the “ugly underbelly” who elected him. Just a hunch that term was inspired by many celebs who spend an evening with Michael Moore.
