Enough! Close the Border – Today

Enough!

Enough of invaders from Mexico and points south crashing our borders and overburdening our immigration system.

Enough of asking Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador for help in enforcing our immigration laws and stemming the flow of illegals heading to Norteamérica.

Enough of indifferent, lackadaisical Democrats and Republicans refusing to do their jobs and protect our borders but then block the president’s efforts when he tries doing his.

Enough of presidential threats to close the border sometime in the future if the flow of illegals rushing north doesn’t stop soon.

Enough of the immigration madness mess. Here’s a simple 3-point plan to help force immediate action on our southern border.

Close the border – NOW!

Closing the border will get the immediate attention of everyone involved and stress the seriousness of the situation.

Undoubtedly it will cause short term economic pain and incessant whining from different quarters, but that temporary pain and inconvenience will be nothing compared to the long term costs and consequences of housing, supporting, educating and policing hundreds of thousands of people here illegally.

Keep the border closed until…

…Congress works out a feasible, pragmatic immigration solution.  Congress grumbles about what the president is proposing and insists immigration policy is their responsibility, so let them take responsibility (for a change) and craft an immigration plan that puts America and its taxpayers first.

If Congress wants open borders, then let them craft a bill saying that and face the voters in 2020.

Petition the Supreme Court for certiorari before judgment

Certiorari before judgment permits the Supreme Court to expedite a case by accepting the case for review before an appellate court has decided it. Our immigration emergency is serious enough to qualify for immediate review by the Supreme Court rather than taking months to weave its way through the legal slalom course of lower courts.

Let federal judges in Hawaii and Washington state who have thwarted Trump’s attempts to address the border emergency issue defend their legal reasoning, and cite legal precedents justifying how un-elected judges forcibly stymied efforts by previous presidents attempting to deal with illegal immigration.

Isn’t it odd that Congress has appropriated millions of dollars in border protection over the years for countries all over the globe, but is unwilling to draft legislation now to defend a porous border in its own homeland?

It’s enough to make you wonder if the drug cartels aren’t the only ones making money off America’s lax immigration security.

Citizens are Pawns in Immigration Chess

The body of 20-year-old University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts was found August 21 in a remote Iowa cornfield following a month-long search.

The Democrats don’t realize it yet, but since that tragic discovery, their chances of winning this November succumbed in that same field where Mollie Tibbetts’ body was covered over by corn leaves.

Enough is enough.

I can hear the Democrat whining now: “The Republicans are politicizing Mollie Tibbetts’ death. Have they no shame?”

The Republicans aren’t politicizing the senseless tragedy of Mollie Tibbetts, but Democrats and progressives are politicizing the policies that got her killed. The Dems are telling everyone that will listen that they stand for open borders, amnesty and the elimination of ICE.

When 24-year-old illegal immigrant Cristhian Bahena Rivera was charged with Mollie’s murder the same day after leading authorities to her body, America got a sneak peek at America’s future if the Dems return to power.

An illustrative, stark sneak peek less than 80 days before the mid-term elections.

Republicans and Democrats deserve equal blame for our current patchwork quilt of insane border enforcement policies, but it’s the Democrat party alone who is now demanding open borders and generous amnesty policies.

As the citizen victim count rises and yet another innocent American is marked as a casualty of our shortsighted open borders policy, it’s becoming more and more apparent that the Democrat party values open borders and unfettered immigration more than they do the safety of Americans.

Presumably Democrats would prefer achieving unrestricted immigration without the mess of involuntary casualties, but what the heck – you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, right? If a ballooning body count of a few dead Americans is the price for replacing their dwindling base of voters, it’s a price Democrats are obviously willing to pay.

Got a problem with that? Then you’re a racist and xenophobe and should be deported yourself.

The Constitution says two of the federal government’s most important responsibilities are securing the nation’s borders and protecting the citizenry.

The heartbreaking death of Mollie Tibbetts is just another example of how they are failing to do either.

A Doozy of a DACA Idea

The latest Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) deadline of March 5 has come and gone, and both Republicans and Democrats have hit the wall on the problem of illegal immigration – so to speak.

President Obama created the controversial DACA program in June 2012 as he idly fished for votes with his phone and pen during his re-election campaign.

Since then we’ve all had to deal with a questionable program that is constitutionally fishy, and the can of worms it opened for everyone.

An estimated 683,000 DACA recipients are currently protected under the program. Recipients have renewable two-year stays from deportation and enjoy work permits, driver’s licenses, Social Security registration and, rumor has it, all-you-can-eat privileges on Taco Tuesdays and Fajita Fridays.

President Trump discontinued the illegal program last fall and gave Congress six months to come up with a fix so they did what they do so well – kicked the immigration can down the no responsibility road.

Now they’ve stubbed their toes and stirred the anger of DACA recipients who are not melding well in America’s melting pot.

Fortunately there is a solution, and it’s a Dean Riffs exclusive. I propose the following:

  • We deport every member of Congress who supports illegal immigration
  • We deport all the groups left and right lobbying for illegal immigration
  • We deport California’s Gov Jerry Brown, a supporter of sanctuary states, and every mayor who supports sanctuary cities
  • We deport every journalist that uses words like “undocumented immigrant” and “dreamers” when referring to illegals
  • We #BuildTheWall and enforce current immigration law until a permanent solution is passed

Phase 2: We require every member of Congress to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for every day a DACA fix was not enacted since Trump abolished the illegal program; we give DACA recipients permanent membership status after the wall is built; we make every illegal wanting to immigrate here enter legally, and all others listed above are subject to passing a class on the U.S. Constitution and a remedial history class.

There – fixed it.
